An excellent reference piece for all college students and very inexpensive. I read it all in one go, and that’s a bit counter-productive, seeing as you won’t be able to remember all of it unless you’re crazy smart, in which case, you probably don’t need this book.

The downside for that function is that there is no index. This is a rulebook as the title suggests, but it is concise and readable. It is through others’ eyes that you can see best where you ruleobok unclear or hasty of just plain implausible. This small book acts as a guide on how to make good arguments in writing. The mistake is to have nothing else. I will always get back to this until I remember all I was bad at arguing.

I find I do most of this intuitively but great to carry around as a pocket-sized reference book and some worthwhile recommendations for further reading at the end.

This could be effective for a class or prolonged study of this material, but I’m not sure I would recommend it beyond a high school level and, at the same time, I’m not sure I would recommend it to high school students either because of the content of some of the examples – one of which is about having sex in space.

I was hesitating to buy this book but after reading it, I realise it is worth it’s price.
