Wind Festival – Late May. This is festival
features kite flying demonstrations, wind surfing, wind art and festival
food.
Arts & Seafood Festival - Usually on Labor
Day weekend. This festival is nearing the 15th year and is a celebration
of Port Orford's two cottage industries, artists and fishermen. The
result of this combination is an uncommonly good time with lots of
fresh seafood and numerous displays of art and cultural exhibits.
Festival headquarters is the Community Building on 11th Street, one
block east of 101, across from the Driftwood school, with some events
taking place at the Port Orford dock.

on 11th Street. Annual event features prizes and lots of food.
Christmas Arts and Crafts Bazaar– This
is an extremely popular annual event featuring local artisits, crafters,
food specialties and other gifts. There is a raffle and photos with
Santa for the kids, gifts, refreshments. Usually the first week of
December. See the Calendar or local newspapers.
Native American Honoring Ceremony – This
event usually takes place in mid-Spring with a community potluck,
drumming, traditional dancing, examples of pine needle weaving.
Easter Egg Hunt – Saturday before Easter Sunday – Held at Buffington
Park – turn on west on 14th Street – park
begins on the corner of Arizona.
Baseball Season – games at Buffington
Park and Driftwood School.
Driftwood is located on Oregon Street (Highway 101) between at
11th and 13th. Baseball field is on the south
end of the school and usually features high school games. Buffington
Park is at 14th and Arizona, 2 blocks west of Hwy. 101and usually features
little league and family games. Buffington Park ballfield is pictured
at right.
